Abstract

Modern partnerships are very prone to collapse, as the idyllic expectations of the partners are overshadowed by the demands of the relationship. This article focuses on changing the way partners behave and explores the factors that play an important role in raising the awareness of partners who would like to change deep-rooted symptomatic patterns of interpersonal interactions.  The goal of the psychosocial approach is to influence changes in the way partners behave to replace inappropriate patterns of behaviour, emotions and beliefs with acceptable forms. This article also presents two studies on the importance of psychosocial approaches in raising awareness and solving dysfunctional partner interpersonal interactions. The aim of the first research was to find out whether psychosocial approaches were an important factor in raising awareness and resolving interpersonal family interactions, and with the second research, based on a number of workshops carried out, we wanted to find out whether psychosocial approaches were important in effecting the desired changes.  The results of both research studies confirmed that psychosocial approaches are an important factor in raising awareness and resolving interpersonal partner or family situations.
